Early Life

The CAF youth player of the year award winner young footballer was born to their father Hassan Hakimi and mother, Saida Hakimi. His parents were originally from Morocco, but they migrated to the capital of Spain, Madrid, when Hakimi was still a young boy. Footballer Hakimi also has one sister and a brother as his siblings in his family. His brother’s name is Nabil Hakimi, and his sister’s name is Widad Hakimi. Hakimi himself said that he has always been very close to his brother and sister since childhood.


The hardworking footballer child was soon recruited in the ranks of the local football club Colonia when he was a kid. In early 2006 he joined the youth football team of Real Madrid as he attracted interest from the Spanish football club. He played with number 2 on his jersey during his days at Inter Milan, who currently wears the number 19 at his present club, PSG. Likewise, he uses Hakimi as his name in his club and his national team kit during his career. Starting as a full back in his early playing days, he excelled at many midfield and defense positions.

Career

Achraf Hakimi began his football career at the youth level with Colonia Ofigevi and went through the Real Madrid’s youth academy.


He started playing for Real Madrid Castilla in 2016 and was promoted to the first team in 2017.
He went on a two-year loan to the German club Borussia Dortmund, on July 11, 2018. He scored his first goal for the clubbin a 7-0 win against 1.FC Numberg on September 27, 2018.
He signed a five-year contract with the Italian club Inter Milan for a reported fee of €40 million on July 2, 2020. He made his debut for the club in a 4-3 victory against Fiorentina on September 26, 2020 and scored his first goal in the subsequent match, which ended 5-2 win over Benevento.
He joined Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year deal, for a reported fee of €60 million on July 6, 2021. He scored his first goal for the club against Troyes.Hakimi represented Morocco at the under-17, under-20, and under-23 levels before he was called up to the senior team. He was named in n the Moroccan squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and was called up for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where he scored in a 2-2 draw with Gabon.
He also played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he helped his team secure a place in the quarter-finals after scoring the winning goal in a penalty shoot-out against Spain.

Personal Life

Hiba Abouk, a Spanish actress of Libyan and Tunisian ancestry, is married to Hakimi. Two boys were born to the couple in 2020 and 2022. He is a devoted Muslim.


Hakimi tested positive for COVID-19 on July 17, 2021. He had already tested positive for the virus in October 2020, thus this was his second exposure to it.
