The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has successfully recovered funds that were held by the N-Power consultant for several months. Mr. Akindele, the National Program Manager of N-Power, announced this after a meeting with representatives of N-Power beneficiaries.
In his statement, Mr. Akindele confirmed the recovery of the funds and assured the beneficiaries that they would receive their long-awaited payments soon. He credited the efforts of Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, who has been tirelessly working to address irregularities in the scheme and other social investment programs.
According to Mr. Akindele, the Minister’s dedication has been instrumental in resolving various issues that had hindered the smooth implementation of the program. One major problem was the non-payment of monthly allowances to many beneficiaries, compounded by delays caused by an expired contract with the consultant managing the enrollment and payment system. The recovery of the funds has paved the way for the beneficiaries to finally receive their payments.
Mr. Akindele emphasized that these efforts were part of a broader initiative to build a strong foundation for the Renewed Hope N-POWER program, which aims to reach five million young Nigerians. He urged patience from the youth, assuring them that the ongoing restructuring was in their best interest and would lead to the expansion of the program to benefit millions of young people.
He concluded by affirming President Tinubu’s commitment to poverty eradication, stating that the President would fulfill this promise through these efforts.
