To better your academic standing and future employment prospects, apply for the Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship at Atlantic Technological University in Ireland. This scholarship will be open for applications during the 2023-2024 academic year.
A total of up to twelve awards are available to students who will be enrolling in the School of Engineering program at ATU Galway City, Dublin Road Campus in order to pursue an undergraduate degree full-time. ATU is a multi-campus technological university in the west and northwest of Ireland that delivers a rich combination of academic and research excellence, quality of life, and opportunity.
About Atlantic Technological University
There is a technological university located in the west and north-west of Ireland known as Atlantic Technological University. It was formally established on April 1, 2022, as a result of the merger of three existing institutes of technology into a single university. These institutes of technology were named Galway-Mayo IT, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny IT. This university is the fourth technological university to be established in Ireland.
Atlantic Technological University is a prestigious educational establishment that can be found in the western region of Ireland. It has campuses in both Galway and Mayo. The Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarships

ATU Galway Mayo awards up to twelve Access Scholarships to support students entering ATU Galway-Mayo,on afull-time undergraduate programme,who are from socio-economically or other disadvantaged backgrounds, or those who have faced difficult personal circumstances.
The Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship awards one scholarship for students entering a full-time undergraduate School of Engineering programme with ATU Galway City, Dublin Road Campus.
Both applications will be considered on this form.
Each scholarship is worth €5,000 in total and is provided in increments over the duration of the programme of study.
In addition, Access scholarship applicants may be eligible for a reduced-points offer of up to 50 CAO points, subject to availability (this does not apply to Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship recipient).
Note: Applicants must have taken the Leaving Certificate exams within the last two years.
Application Criteria for Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship
Applicants of EU/EEA member states, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom.
Available Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the university.
Entry Criteria for Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarships: To be eligible for the 2023 Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarships, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
Be a first-year student in higher education.
Be a citizen of an EU/EEA member state, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom.
Have completed your Leaving Certificate exams within the last two years.
Be a currently applied to a Galway-Mayo ATU full-time undergraduate degree via the CAO and meet the general and special entry standards.
Only full-time undergraduate School of Engineering students at the Dublin Road, Galway campus will be considered for the Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship.
Have a family income that is less than the current third-level maintenance grant criterion.

Applicants should request an academic reference from their school.
Your school can submit the reference directly to ATU by email to ap.galwaymayo@atu.ie by July 7th 2023 or you can upload your academic reference with supporting documentation when asked to do so.
