“Shocking Revelation: 10,800 Civil Servants Hired Illegally? Government Launches Committee to Uncover Truth!”

On Wednesday, the Kano State Government officially constituted a 22-member committee with the responsibility of scrutinizing and confirming the appointment of 10,800 civil servants. These appointments had stirred controversy, as they were allegedly made improperly during the previous administration under the leadership of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

During the inauguration of the committee, Dr. Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government, emphasized the imperative nature of its formation. He elucidated that the objective was to comprehensively investigate the circumstances surrounding the hiring of these civil servants. The concern raised was that the previous administration had circumvented established protocols and regulations governing civil service employment in their hurried recruitment of these individuals.

The government perceives this situation as an anomaly and has thus taken the decision to institute this committee. The committee’s mandate entails a comprehensive assessment and reevaluation of the entire employment process. The goal is to determine whether these recruitments were driven by genuine manpower requirements and the legitimate needs of the relevant departments and agencies, or if they were influenced by factors such as nepotism, as has been alleged.

Alhaji Shehu Minjibir, the committee’s chairman and a former Head of the State Civil Service, expressed his commitment to executing the assignment diligently and impartially. He assured that the committee would approach its responsibilities without any biases or undue influence.
